China cryptocurrency mining corporation Bitcoin ... - ZEUS

I think I'm about done.

So, last wipe, I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I struggled until I got to about level 35ish, but eventually I got my bitcoin farm going (not full 50 GPU) and my booze generator going, and I was making some decent rubles.
I could buy decent gear, the scopes I wanted, the ammo I liked (which was rarely m995,7n37, or m61, btw). And then I could go in raid, do my quests, find items, kill players, take their stuff and leave. Or, I could die and lose all my gear, and it would sting, but not break me. But when I did raids, I almost ALWAYS stayed until <10 minutes remaining, sometimes even getting out with spare seconds left. Yes, by about level 45, I eventually started making more money than I could spend, but ONLY after 50 GPU's in the BC farm and booze generator combined.
Now this wipe, instead of enjoying the raids, I'm getting frustrated trying to find progression halting items. Then, when I do find them, I'm STRONGLY encouraged to turtle up, hide until the coast is clear behind counters or in bushes, then extract at 10:01. I'm also having to buy expensive weapons like SVD's to finish quests, which I had to do last wipe too, but my rouble flow was much much higher.
I can kill a 3 man squad, and make 200k, because their armor was zero'd out and too high cost to repair and their guns with all their fancy attachments are worth 75k. Or, I can die and lose about that much. There is no real risk/reward any more.
Then, when I'm having a particularly bad day dying, I can't even lean back on looting stuff like factory keys and fuel conditioners now, AND WHAT LITTLE BIT OF FIR I SELL HAS ATROCIOUS FEES. I sold 3 packs of bolts for 14k ea and the fee was 12k.
It's like BSG isn't even trying to micro adjust the game to dial back the ruble flow. Instead it's full on scorched earth. Only the people with the absolute best combat skills or the most time to rat around have the ability to make any decent money.
On top of that, I'm level 33 and JUST got my last FIR flash drive. I have crashed against the rocks to the tune of MILLIONS trying to get a LEDX and 3 FIR graphics cards from Interchange, thanks to RNG. I can't even start Shooter Born In Heaven, and I would be 3/4 done with it by now if I had it 10 levels ago.
I'm sure* 3/4 of the subreddit will come by to tell me to quit crying, git gud, it's hardcore, roubles are easy to make, its a BETA, etc..
Well here's my Beta feedback. The game isn't fun when I lose every ruble I scrape up trying to do quests with specific gun/armor requirements and finding FIR items in hotspots, and hiding to avoid losing those items, all while BSG -heavily- deflates the economy and punishes rule obeying players in the name of stamping out RMT.
*Left out a word.
Edit: let me just say, I don’t mean this as a personal attack towards Nikita or the other devs. It’s simply just my experience, and my thoughts. I don’t have answers on how to make the perfect balances and compromises, or fixes on RMT etc.
I just wish it had been publicized ahead of time, something like “Okay guys, next wipe we’re gonna experiment with making it real hard.”
Also I’ve gotten a lot of responses saying “you’re not supposed to run the best gear every raid.” And my reply is, my standard kit is a Vepr KM, 6B23 armor, a Ratnik helmet, and comtacs, with self made BP ammo from the hideout. I’ve just recently started adding TV10 armor rigs into the mix. I’m not a META player who has to have iglonik or M995 every raid. I’m not trying to say I want to do that either.
For one CONSTRUCTIVE bit, I feel like items should have two different FIR tags. One for flea/resell, one for quests, and the quest one staying if you died with it. That would make life better to me and to a very large population of power players.
Also, between FIR changes, reduced loot spawns, increased flea fees, reduced trader sell prices, any 1-2 of those are survivable but all of them together, with more to come I'm sure, are crushing. That's all I'm saying.
EDIT Again : I just saw what Jaegers giving for guns. THAT is nice. That makes up a little bit for the stuff like fuel conditioners.

(Serious) AITA for making my tenant pay for my Bitcoin mining rig?

I run a powerful Bitcoin mining rig. My tenant agreed to pay for the electricity, water and repairs and I pay for the mortgage. The rent is $400 a month (reasonable pricing) and I decided to run the Bitcoin mining program without his knowledge since 2017.
He discovered the rig in the bathroom he never used 🤣. He wanted me to refund the electric bill??? So I evicted him lmao. I earned 2.0242069 bitcoins that I used to buy apple stocks.
AITA?

How to start making money/profit easy if you are a newbie, and you are disoriented. (CUSTOMS) Plus: Budged Loadout that works well against any type of player/gear.

First of all, this guide is for starters, and is focused on the Marked Key room of the Dorms in Customs, where is the most valuable items in this map on most cases. Before this guide, you have to learn the map, the extracts, etc., but I will make a summary anyway.
The items that can drop in this place are, for example:
*Weapon Case
* Document Case
*Money Case
* Keytool, (this ones you can sell well, or you can keep it if needed)
* Weapons with value worth 50k-100k roubles (AS VAL, SA-58, TX-15, VSS, HK, M4, etc) * and ammo (sometimes m995, m61 and igonik that are quite expensive).
Ok, let's get started!
First, you must buy the Markey Key Room, for the Marked room in Customs on the flea market, it’s 70k-90k worth (sometimes), Check always that the key you'll buy IS 25/25 USES! Don't worry about the price, it’s cheap and it pay itself very fast.

Marked Room Key
Second point: Learn the map, very important info. Your spawn needs to be favorable to get to the dorms first, or at least second, if your spawn is far from dorms, you have to change your objective (hunt the scav boss, do quests, farm scavs/hidden stashes, join other pmc's fights), you can pass through the dorms anyway but it would be looted most of the time, you can get lucky tho, If you have a favorable spawn, stick to the objective, and don't lose time.
RED BOX: BAD SPAWN - BLUE ARROW: GOOD - DECENT SPAWN:
Customs Map with references.

Third point: Rush the 3 floors dorms (where the marked room is) and go straight to it. (Third floor, last dorm in the right with the marks and candles) Tip: When you reach to the door of the marked room, don't open it, go outside behind the marked room, and watch through the window (you can hold C and move the wheel of the mouse to stand or crouch slowly so you can watch clearly what's inside the room, sometimes stuff inside aren’t worth it, so you won’t spend your key in useless stuff). When you realize the loot inside is valuable, go and open it. If the loot is worthy, but not so much to get hyped, don't open the door and roam a bit. If you reach first, wait for other player to come, and ambush them, try to not make noise and hear (wear contacts if you can), with a good positioning and nice aim you can take down players easily. Always take care from the 2 story dorms because there, other players have a good sight of your building.

Marked Room from the 3rd story Dorms, in the third floor, last door right side. (with the marks and canddles)

Window behind the marked room where you can see the loot inside, before open it.
Fourth point: If you get some juicy loot from the marked, or also a player, you need to make your escape fast. A tip if you are been surrounded and get trapped in the marked room: you can rush to the roof and jump from there to a fence (so you don’t take great damage) and escape. I highly recommend to always take 7k roubles in your secure container to use the Dorm V-ex Extract if you are with some very valuable loot (weapon case for example) and you don't want to risk it. Sometimes this saves your life If you spawn in the side of the Crossroads extract (Because de ZB-1011 extract is so far), meanwhile, If you spawn to the other side, almost always the "Smuggler's Boat" Extract is up, and is really close to the Dorms, you can take that risk If you want.
Place when you can jump without taking much damage if you are surrounded in the third floor, in the 3 story dorms, Customs. Always fall in the fence.
DORMS V-EX - Extraction behind 3 story dorms that you can take if is up, you need 7000 roubles, and takes 1 min to extract (hide behind the red gate and get in the car when is 10 seconds left to not expose too much)

Dorms V-ex Extract second Pic. Get close to the car and press F to pay the extract, then wait.
Fifth point: Maybe you will fail the firsts attempts or get so lucky that no one rush the dorms and you get some really good loot. Expect the unexpected. This is random, but most important, do this a couple of times, and you will learn how to fight in the dorms. Learn the better spots, do quests meanwhile too, that’s not a waste of time at all. With time you will know If there's people inside of the dorms or not. Your hearing is your best friend (mainly if you are solo player, stealth is your advantage). Mark spots, play sneaky, play smart. Don't rush.
Important Info: Scav Boss usually spawns in the 3rd floor Dorms (where the marked room is) but not so often, and If you go straight to the third floor, isn't likely to be even a guard in that floor, but there's always a chance… If you want to ignore him, rush the third floor through the side stairs and take a look, you call if there's a guard or two (even the boss) and you want to fight him. Scav boss can spawn in the 2nd floor Dorms too, so take care giving your position through the windows in the 3rd floor Dorms because they shoot you at sight and have sick aim from long range.

Scav Boss Bodyguards (Scav boss gang) they protect the scav boss Reshala.
Reshala, the Scav Boss of Customs. Spawn: 3 story dorms, 2 story dorms, gas station. Always been guarded by he's bodyguards, good loot. (bitcoin, keycard, weapon, meds)

BUDGET LOADOUT TO RUSH THE MARKED ROOM AND FIGHT PLAYERS. (WORK AGAINST WELL GEARED PMC'S)

SSh-68 HELMET: best helmet quality=price, high ricochet chance, LVL3, can save you many times!

6B5-15 ZH-86 ULEY ARMORED RIG: This armor rig is one of the best quality price too, armor 4, and you can trade in ragman with some SOAP and TOILET PAPER. You can drop this and pick other's players armor, hide it if is insured and have decent durability.
6B5-16 ZH-86 ULEY ARMORED RIG: This armor is pretty decent too, is LVL 4, and repair better than the one before. Just need LVL 2 RAGMAN to buy it.

Any comtacts, audio is one of your best tools to fight, try to get this always, mostly when you are playing alone!

any kind of AK-74, caliber 5.45x39 (I prefer the AK-74N but there's little difference between they), take 3 or 4 magazines in total. If you survive, try to get some attachments (mostly muzzle recoil reductor, sight, grip), By preference and playing alone, I try to get a silencer as soon as possible.

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, THE AMMO: THIS IS THE BETTER TO WORSE AMMO FOR AK (5.45X39) Credit of the image to: u/sunmachine_
7N39 IGOLNIK: if you get your hands in this, make sure to use this in a well geared pmc, this penetrate any kind of armor. but is quite expensive. Don't buy it if you are in a budget.
BS AMMO: Second Best ammo, a little bit weaker that Igolkin, but a little bit cheaper too. I highly recommend get at least 30 bullets for your first magazine. And use it wisely.
BT AMMO: When you are in a budget, this is your second best ammo, usually you will kill one or two with your first magazine with BS AMMO, but if you don't your second ammo need to have at least this ammo to finish the rest. Quite decent but hardly penetrate lvl 5-6 chest armor. With this ammo go for the Head or ambush players. Tip: You can get easily a lot of this in Reserve on the top of green boxes, they are in packages of ammo, do scav runs sometimes to exclusively refill your ammo stash, you can get BS too.
BP AMMO: The last decent ammo to kill players, but cheap. Use it to kill under lvl 4 armor players or scavs/ scav boss.
PS-PP AMMO: This two ammo I only recommend to use against scavs, almost no penetration up to armor lvl 2-3.
Other ammo below: NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

My loadout always is ONE MAG OF 30 bullets (or 60 mag if I can afford it to kill squads) of the best ammo (IGOLNIK IF I CAN GET IT, IF DON'T, BS!), then 2 mags of BT AMMO, then 1 mag of BP or PP, exclusively to kill scavs (They always scream at you behind walls so you can notice them, so they give you the chance to change your mag to the shitt*'s one.). And one cheap grenade (RGD-5) if you can afford it, this can save your life and take you out of hard situations sometimes. With this, you can kill one or two, or even three full geared guys with some patience, good spotting, and good aim.
The weapon and ammo is all preference, and looking for the best quality-price. You can use for Budget weapons like SKS, or VEPR HUNTER too, but they are single fire and struggles a bit to fight 2-3 man squads. Up to you guys :)

CAR MED KIT: 6000 roubles for a decent 220 heal/bandage. Good price=efficency.
Painkillers to keep fighting even with a black leg, or run to positionate better.

At least a Scav Backpack, or a Berkut. or similar space. This can carry two normal space weapons. Decent storage.
TIP WHEN LOOTING PLAYERS IN DORMS, OR SURROUNDINGS: When you kill a player, make sure it was alone, be patience, repositionate and take a good look to loot, then, If your items are insured, hide them in dorms nobody look (dorms opens with no loot that can be closed), the bathroom, big bushes, etc. And equip the enemy gear, with this, you don't care anymore if you die because your things are secured (just waste ammo and meds).

That's all guys! It's a solid playstyle, I use it and get me a lot of profit. I hope is useful for someone!

My discord for help, or more tips: Foca#6577. I'm aiming to become a Sherpa and help others.
If this guide have good reviews, i'll make more :)

Doing a ‘hardcore challenge’ is the most fun I’ve had in Tarkov in months

My friends and I started a new hardcore challenge based loosely on a challenge we’ve seen elsewhere (detailed below), and it’s honestly the most fun I’ve had in Tarkov since the start of this wipe. I just wanted to share this in case anyone else wants to try.
Rules:
The objective is to escape Tarkov by going through each map at least once without dying. The order of maps is Factory>Customs>Woods>Shoreline>Interchange>Reserve>Labs.
First raid you load in to Factory as a scav. Whatever you can walk out with is your starting kit for your PMC.
To get in to labs, you need to find a keycard.
You can repeat or go back a map at any time.
If you die, you start again. New kit, new run.
You can only bring in to the next raid what you walked out of the last raid with (I.e. what you can fit in your back pack and rig).
No pouches allowed.
No flea market and no buying items from traders with roubles, dollars or euros.
Barter trades may be used, so hold on to those barter items. You can trade a bitcoin for a key card, and a tetriz for a bitcoin, opening up a few more options for finishing the challenge.
Items found in raid can be sold to traders, and you can use the roubles to either repair your armouguns or extract (eg car extracts).
You may do this solo or as a group. If you group, sharing items is allowed and encouraged. Players can solo or group run any map, but they must be up to the same map on their route. You can wait for friends to catch up if they die and start again, or you can work your way back to meet them. Grouping with players not following this challenge is not allowed. This creates the delicious scenario my friends and I had of us sacrificing our lives to save the one guy who had a key card in their bag.
Unfortunately, I can’t credit the original idea as I can’t find it. We added some rules but if anyone can find and credit the original creator of this challenge please do so and I will update.
Tip - ammo becomes a commodity, so take as many mags off bodies as you can to empty after the raid and divvy out with your mates!
The game feels more survival-esque like DayZ, and I’ve never felt more excited to kill a scav and get a scavBP to store some spare mags in.

New-ish Player's Guide++

I did a guide a month ago for new players here, this guide is a continuation on that: https://www.reddit.com/EscapefromTarkov/comments/e9smrv/new_players_guide_extended/
If this is your first week, this games amazing and worth it. In the meantime read this guide to start:
https://www.reddit.com/EscapefromTarkov/comments/e515ub/influx_of_new_players_means_its_time_for_a_guide/
I wanted to do a follow up guide after doing ~30ish runs on each map this month to get the current meta of each and review various armors because I'm slightly bored after all the quests and max hideout is done but this game is just too addicting to stop playing. It also helps that I've had 8 friends buy the game in the last few weeks so this is easier than explaining to them one at a time. If anyone sees anything incorrect please feel free to correct me and if there's any other questions post in comments/pm me.

General Tips Continued:

Maps

TLDR: Shoreline for money, Interchange for consistency, Customs for quests, Factory/Labs for fights.I did a brief overview on money runs on various maps in my previous guide, but wanted to update those maps in light of recent changes to spawns and my experiences over the past month or so testing all the maps out. In profitability order:
Shoreline - With the new addition of 6-8 LedX spawns, shoreline has become king for money. It takes the high reward possibility of Labs and mixes it with the consistent loot value of Interchange with the only draw back being the need for keys, which I purchased for around 3-4 mil for all good loot rooms ( 15 keys in total). This is a steep investment, but it is a one time cost, and completely worth it. You can expect an LedX about 1/7 raids clearing most LedX rooms. I got 5/36 shoreline runs, clearing most rooms about 2/3rds of the time, dying or being beaten to the rooms in the other 1/3. Unlike labs, however, these are just the cherry on top of consistently amazing loot in the rooms with easy extracts to boot. The big draw back is popularity, I run into at least 2-3 PMCs at the resort, usually 4-5 with a duo or squad tossed in the mix. They're usually tier 3-4 geared (I go tier 5 but don't recommend that unless you're good with losing a mil to a lucky mosin shot) and have a bad habit of hiding in rooms and ambushing.
Interchange - For consistent mid value barter items, Interchange is your map. Nothing has changed from my original assessment, tldr version being run Oli shelves and the 3 tech stores next to it for about 500k-1 mil per extract, assuming you bring a decent bag and rig. This map has dropped in popularity with the Shoreline buff, but be on the look out for tier 5 geared PMCs doing their 100 Killa kills grind and the ever present extract campers.
Reserve - This map still has great high value drops, less frequent than Interchange but with higher average value and requiring less keys than Shoreline. The massive drawback here is extract difficulty. If you can afford it, para-cord with the ice-pick for the repel extract is recommended as you just have to ditch/bag chest armor and you're out. Losing a bag for the manhole has required many a painful pick and chose for me recently and the door just isn't consistent, sometimes the button will be pressed but its still locked, other times its just open. Its a fun PvP map, but for money its just not beating the two above.
Customs - This map just really isn't for money, its for quests. But with the addition of the new stashes spread throughout the map you can make decent money whilst running the quests. See my past guide/the link below for stash runs.
Factory - Wait, Factory over Labs? Customs over Labs? Yes, I'm getting to that. So why Factory? Because quick, hit and run style or longer scav pileup at a choke-point style runs can net you tons of experience along with a big stack of weapons and decent loot from scav pockets. Solos try the upper hallway office/breakable door, the bottom pipeline hallway curve, or extract choke-point. Duos and squads can hold down the shower doors with ease.
Labs - People who have read my previous guide might be surprise this is last. The issue with labs is its completely dependent on high level item spawn rates. Labs is my favorite map, I could write a lengthy separate post about everything labs. At the beginning of the wipe, labs was ludicrously OP. You could spawn in and expect a 1/3 chance of an LedX (2.5 mil at the time) along with 2-3 other 400k+ items spawning in each raid. This resulted in 10's of millions in profit. Then they released Shoreline LedX spawns and turned off labs LedX. The barrel spawn was completely dead (50+ runs and nothing) and the two other (at the time) known locations had maybe a 1/25 rate. You could expect maybe 1-2 other drops per raid and it was now crowded with PMCs. It was difficult to turn a profit doing geared runs, and I lost millions. Today its slightly better, there are 3 new LedX spawns and the barrel spawn has a 1/7-10 (still testing) rate but everything has plummeted in price (VPX is less than 200k now) and you can expect 3-6 tier 5 geared PMCs plus raiders to be skulking around. Great for fights, terrible for money. Though extracting will often bring huge rewards in gear alone in current state.
... - Feel like I'm forgetting one... Hmm... Nah they wouldn't put a thermal ridden snipe happy map in the game with no loot spawns and lots of annoying quests. (Don't @ me Woods fans)

Armor

TLDR: Highest level armor not worth, high level ammo makes everything vulnerable. Not doing the same tiers (see previous guide) but the actual armor level itself. For actual setups with armoweapons see my previous guide.

Does this mean you should never run good armor? No. What it means is you should be aware you are likely losing value/money by doing so at higher tiers. Better armor will help you survive more raids, help with quests, and is a sign of being a more established player. But you are trading a LOT more money for smaller advantages in return, making it hard to recommend the more expensive armors in the game to anyone who can't handle multiple instant deaths in a row losing 500k-1mil.

This guide was brought to you by: Tarkov 2020 Wait Times! Averaging 20 minutes or more per raid giving me plenty of down time to type it up! I joke but I really do hope they fix this soon, and to new players this is a very uncommon issue. BSG has never let us down before.

End of day summary - 03/06

The Dow fell 256.50, or 0.98%, to 25,864.78 , the Nasdaq lost 162.98, or 1.87%, to 8,575.62 , and the S&P 500 declined 51.57, or 1.71%, to 2,972.37.

The stock market ended a volatile week on a lower note with the S&P 500 (-1.7%) settling just above its low from Monday. The benchmark index gained 0.6% for the week while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (-1.0%) outperformed, gaining 1.8% since last Friday.
In the U.S., nonfarm payrolls surged 273,000 in February and the unemployment rate fell back to 3.5%, which matches a five-decade low. Average hourly earnings grew 3.0% year-over-year. While a very strong report, it appears to be discounted because of the coronavirus, though it provides evidence that the U.S. economy was on solid footing before it hit. The trade deficit narrowed 6.7% to $45.3B in January as exports dipped 0.4% to $208.6B and imports dropped 1.6% to $253.9B. Wholesale inventories fell 0.4% in January, but sales jumped 1.6%.
In energy news, Reuters reported that OPEC's plans for prolonged oil cuts have been derailed as Russia refused to support the move contending it is too early to predict the effect of coronavirus on global energy demand. WTI crude for April delivery fell $4.62, or 10.1%, to end at $41.28 a barrel following the news of the OPEC blow-up. Also, Baker Hughes reported that the U.S. rig count is up 3 rigs from last week to 793.
The final session of the week was marred by a continued deterioration of sentiment due to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus while the pressure on growth expectations intensified. Treasuries essentially never stopped after Thursday's cash close, continuing their forceful charge in the overnight futures market. Treasuries did pull back from their highs in midday trade, but the long bond rallied to a fresh record high in the afternoon while the 10-yr note stopped a bit short of its best level of the day. The 10-yr yield fell 22 basis points to 0.71%, representing a 42-basis point drop for the week.
Expectations for another sharp rate cut remain in place with the fed funds futures market pointing to a 56.0% implied likelihood of a 75-basis point rate cut at or before the conclusion of the FOMC meeting on March 18.
The S&P 500 staged a 70-point rally during the final hour of trade, which led to a significant improvement in final sector standings, though all eleven sectors finished in the red.
Four groups surrendered 2.0% or more. Energy (-5.6%) and financials (-3.3%) were particularly weak throughout the day due to their exposure to growth and concerns about issuers of high-yield debt in the energy sector.
Bank stocks suffered from the drop in Treasury yields while energy companies struggled as oil fell $4.57, or 10.0%, to $41.32/bbl. The energy component ended the day at its lowest level since mid-2016 after OPEC+ could not agree to a sharp production cut despite yesterday's reports to the contrary. Russia's Energy Minister, Alexander Novak, said that OPEC+ countries are free to pump at will starting from April 1.
Shares of JPM were sharply lower amid the pullback in the market, though the bank's declines may also be made worse by news that CEO Jamie Dimon experienced an acute aortic dissection and underwent successful emergency heart surgery to repair the health issue. Co-Presidents and Chief Operating Officers Daniel Pinto and Gordon Smith will lead the company as Dimon recovers, the bank confirmed.
Shares of AAPL were lower after a fourth supplier cut guidance amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. ON cut its first quarter revenue outlook this morning, becoming the fourth Apple supplier to cut guidance this week after QRVO, SWKS and MCHP did so as well.
In company-specific news, COST reported better than expected Q2 results, but the stock still finished lower. AMD fared better than the broader market after reaffirming its guidance for FY20. The chipmaker did caution that Q1 results are likely to be on the low end of its guidance.
Among the noteworthy gainers were MRNA and OPK, which have each recently reported on efforts linked to combating the coronavirus. Airline stocks like ALK +4.0%, JBLU +0.1%), UAL, +1.0%, and DAL, +2.0% recorded gains on Friday after recovering from fresh multi-year lows. Alaska Air did warn that its guidance for FY20 should no longer be relied upon due to coronavirus-related uncertainty.
Among the notable losers was AOBC, which fell 30% after the gunmaker reported fiscal Q3 results below consensus and guidance. SBUX shares slid 1% after the company provided an update on the impact related to COVID-19 in China. Stifel analyst Chris O'Cull said the earnings impact to Starbucks' fiscal Q2 is likely larger than he projected, be he also pointed out that Starbucks noted there has been no perceptible impact from COVID-19 on the U.S. business.
Shares of cruise operators started the day in positive territory but retreated as the day went on. NCLH, -5.2% was the weakest performer of the bunch, stopping just above its record low (24.16) that was notched when the company went public in early 2013.
European stocks also fell sharply Friday as the coronavirus outbreak continues to impact businesses worldwide.

Currency

The U.S. Dollar Index dropped 0.9% to 95.98 and was down 2.2% for the week as rate-cut expectations boiled over. According to the CME FedWatch Tool, there is a 100% probability of another 50 basis points cut at the March 17-18 FOMC meeting and a 63% probability of a 75 basis points cut.

Treasury

U.S. Treasuries had another huge day as the stock market racked up another day of huge losses amid ongoing concerns about the spread of the coronavirus and budding credit worries. The 10-yr yield, which settled Thursday at 0.93%, went as low as 0.66% in today's curve-flattening trade before losing some steam.

Commodity

Oil prices plunged more than 8% to multi-year lows on Friday as OPEC’s allies rejected additional production cuts that the organization proposed Thursday. The meeting between OPEC and its allies, known as OPEC+, concluded with no deal on additional production cuts.

Crypto

As global equity markets continue to get pummeled, bitcoin’s return to the $9,000 level may have been driven by some of the same forces causing a rally in bonds – a desire for respite from a coronavirus-plagued markets.

Bonds, Virus and Valuation

The move in Treasuries has been precipitated by flight-safety flows that have been fueled by economic growth concerns stemming from the spread of the coronavirus. It has also been stoked by momentum, interest rate differentials, and policy stimulus expectations, the latter of which have also been nothing short of stunning.
The CME FedWatch Tool is showing a 100% probability of another 50 basis points cut at the March 17-18 FOMC meeting and a 64% probability of a 75 basis points cut.
Those expectations capture the view that the coronavirus isn't "just another flu." It might have similar characteristics, but when was the last time entire cities were quarantined, professional sporting events were canceled, travel restrictions were imposed, orchestrated efforts to force employees to work from home, states of emergency were declared, U.S. schools were closed, and the Federal Reserve ushered in an emergency 50 basis points rate cut because of the flu?
Coronavirus is quite different from the flu because the reaction to it has been universally different -- and that reaction is what gets lost in the debate as to whether the coronavirus is "just another flu." Rightly or wrongly, the coronavirus is creating an economic disruption in a manner no normal flu has in our modern age and that is the important distinction for the capital markets and policymakers.
It's another reason why the strong employment report for February has been glossed over for the most part by the market. At any other time, the Treasury market would be selling off on today's report, and, arguably, the futures market would be moving sharply higher -- but this isn't any other time.
The key takeaway from the report isn't what was in the report, it was the lackluster response to it, which is a function of expecting employment reports in coming months not to look as good because of the coronavirus impact.
The market multiple has contracted to 16.7x, which is now in-line with the five-year average -- only it isn't because earnings estimates are going to fall further.

The Russell Leads the Way
Today’s market got off to an upward start and never looked back. Based on news of re-openings in Italy and France in the works and the restarting of repair work on Notre Dame Cathedral were highlights. Around 11:30 we had a small selloff that lasted until 1:45 and we lost about 100 DPs but we rallied again making a new high of the day at +428 before closing +358.51 (1.51%), NASDAQ +95.64 (1.11%), S&P 500 +41.74 (1.47%) and the Russell, the big winner, +48.82 (3.96%) and DJ Transports +225.02 (2.78%). The DJIA was 24 up, 6 down with the biggest gainers were MMM and GS +45, HD +38, DIS +33, V +31, and JPM +27 DPs. There were no double-digit losers. Market internals were good with both NYSE and Nasdaq 3.5:1 with light volume. All 11 S&P 500 sectors were up with financials the leaders followed by industrials and retail also strong. SECTORS: As I mentioned above, financials lead the way and this is important since for any rally to be sustainable, financials need to participate. I think we may be playing catch-up with today’s move, and we are pretty overextended at this point. I am also adding a sector for food supply chain companies. It is clear that the food supply has problems and since there is no ETF that I know of that covers it, I have put together a short list of the big names. OIL, $16.50 +2.72. Oil was a BIG STORY another day of liquidation coupled with the news that USO will not deal in the front month contract (June) and will “ladder” maturities of the further out months. This is the 4th time that they have made changes with this ETF. From my way of thinking, this will only make it less in line with the actual market moves. METALS, GOLD: $1,723.80 -11.80. After the recent gains, Gold broke solidly above $1,700 and traded as high as $1788 last Wednesday. We have spent the last 3 days consolidating the gains and hit $1,720 today. I will want to get long the GLD if we can probe the $1710 range, or if it turns higher without making another low right here. We are long NEM.
BITCOIN: closed $7,780 + 185. After we traded in the uptrend, I mentioned this weekend that I felt we’d have to test 6750 and yesterday we hit 6465 before turning back up. Today’s action was a continuing move higher. While I want to add the 350, I still want to wait and see some stabilization. We still own 400 GBTC with an average of $8.06. GBTC closed $8.79 +.24 today.

To everyone struggling with solvency:

Here's a bunch of tips for ways to make roubles and how to keep them coming in. Your results may vary but I started out as a complete newbie last wipe and farmed well over 400m, had all keys, all the cash I could spend. I'm on my way to that same level this wipe so it seems the strategies are working still, take them or leave them as you will.
Scav Runs
The first order of business should be purchasing an intelligence folder and upgrading your Intel center to at least level 1 (reduces timer to ~16 min) these extra runs will quickly pay for the cost of the folder, it also helps you progress towards your other hideout upgrades. Such as bitcoin farm, scav box which will help with more easy money later.
The runs. There are varying schools of thought here, some people like to take their time and loot interchange or reserv others like to get in and out quick, I am among the latter group. Neither is incorrect but I will explain my reasons for in and out runs.
My personal strategy is to spawn on factory, run straight to my scav extract (not gate 3, for the love of God). If I find a dead body along the way, I'll loot it. At my extract if there was a scav near by that I can kill quick loot and then immediately extract, I'll do that as well. It's usually 100-200k profit per run and I survive 90% of the time.
Squads Squads Squads
If you want to play solo, that's fine and perfectly viable but know that you have just set yourself against a harder task.
Squads offer huge benefits a few listed below:
Your downsides are that you're going to split loot in some way shape or form reducing potential/theoretical profitability (but in practice, it increases actual survival and there by profitability)
You have to have patience, waiting for everyone to get out of raids especially when someone dies early on into a raid is a pain.
The occasional team kill (accidents happen even amongst coordinated squads)
You'll divert at times from your objectives to complete someone else's objectives.
I usually find a 3 man squad works best at balancing the pros and the cons but duos and quads are doable. 5 man squads can get unwieldy and I really only do those on labs.
If you don't have a squad, and want one, Find a discord channel, join it, play with a random squad, if you don't like their community, find another, there are tons of discord out there keep trying until you find people you click with.
looting
Knowing what and how to loot will increase your profitablilty on every raid you survive, so your wins are better and carry your through more losses. This is hugely important if you are struggling with money/survivability trying to make every slot and rouble count.
Barter items: Commonly found items scattered throughout the map, unfortunately this list is extensive and ever-changing with the ebbs and flows of the markets. There are people and wikis that keep updated spreadsheets with item values I would suggest you refer to. Or taking a look at the market and getting a feel for it. Just playing the game you will build up this knowledge over time. The only suggestion I have here is that if you've never seen something before, get it out of raid. Worst case scenario is you find out it's worthless and you now know for next time, best case, it's a rare item (hence never seeing it before) and you just made bank.
Looting kills:
-When first opening up or 'tabbing' into a body look at the experience you get for searching that body it will be indicative of loot quality to some degree. Scavs with 50-100xp on initial opening likely just have their gun/ammo and an AI2 on them or similar. Scavs with 200-300xp are likely sporting labs keys, door keys, or rare items, search them entirely, pockets and all.
-search pmc pockets for things like grenades and meds, this is usually missed and can have good utility and or value.
-attachments, attachments, attachments. If you can't fit the gun what attachments does it have, items to focus on are suppressors, optics, lights, and lasers, combined they usually hold the majority of a kitted guns value between them, they're smaller and can easily be tucked into the nooks and crannies in your rigs.
-similarly, what ammo are they running? Check their magazines even if you can't fit the magazine the ammo may be worth taking out, did that player you just killed have 2 30 round magazines of bt in his vest? Great unload those puppies and place that single squar of 60 rounds in your pack, it's worth 20k give or take on the flea market.
-insurance fraud, always insure when going into raids. If you find a piece of armor, weapon, etc that is comparable to yours in value and utility, trade it out. Hide your insured item somewhere reasonably safe, and it will likely come back to you allowing you to free up space for more profit and mitigate risks as well. (now if someone kills you and loots you its not your stuff they're stealing).
If you're especially broke, you can plan to do this from the start. Don't bring in a Triton, bring in a micro rig, bring in a lightly modded scav weapon and trade it out the first opportunity you get, etc. Extend the life of YOUR gear by safely tucking it away. Even if you never extract your 1 set of gear might last you 5+ raids this way, costing the approximate 10-20% of value each time to insure. I've got a few Mrigs that I keep having come back to me on insurance since day 1 of the patch, at this point I've traded each of them up for a Triton or better and sold that for 10-20k end of raid 5+ times. That at this point only cost me 1kish to bring into each raid. If you want to be extra safe break down your weapons before tossing them, the likelihood of someone finding a loose suppressor or pk06 that's hidden in a patch of tall grass or a bush is laughably low.
Overall focus on value per slot when looting. Even on customs there's enough loot that when properly done can net you 700k+ profit for a single raid.
Risk Mitigation and cost effectiveness
This is where I find most people have the hardest time with their money. They buy stuff they don't need, over spend on stuff they'll never use, and risk/lose tens of thousands of roubles per round for no reason, they're better off throwing their money down the toilet.
Every item you bring should have a purpose, an intended use, take a good hard look at your play style, what you use, and don't bring fluff. Everyone has a different playstyle, skill set, and understanding so I can't tell what you use and what you don't. Be critical in your self evaluation though.
Common examples I see, friends copying weapon builds that have lasers, flashlights, or canted sights that they haven't used in the 10 raids I've watched their stream. Grenades they forget about unless I specifically ask for a grenade and they check to see if they have it. Stims they never pop, side arms they never switch to, etc.
Another thing I see far too often, players using armor long past its expiration date. Armors effectiveness at resisting penetration (and thus doing its joplb protecting you) is directly related to its durability compared to its original maximum durability. If you've repaired that kirasa armor so many times it's new maximum durability is 25. It's worthless at protecting you and even buckshot is going to tear through that fairly easily, it's best use at that point is being sold to fence. Generally speaking armor should be tossed when it is no longer repairable to at least 50% of its original maximum durability. I've killed more rookies this wipe rocking sub 20 maximum durability killa armor than I can count and that's with me using 545 ps ammo that has horrendously bad penetration. Worse yet they likely bought that useless armor on the market for 80k+ because it was the 'cheapest killa armor'
Make sure what you have has a purpose, isn't costing too much for your cash/income level to justify that purpose, and mostly make sure it's serving that purpose.
This even extends to some 'given' items that most people bring into every raid. If you're running a pistol, do you really need meds in your container? What are the odds you're going to survive a firefight, need to heal with those meds? Now balance that against how often you could've gotten out with another few items you found in raid, say wires, screws, bolts, those 4-5 extra slots could've been something worth 40-50k. This will depend on your skill but for most I'd lean towards not bringing the meds in that specific instance.
Early wipe (or if I'm broke) for instance you'll see me running a scav weapon with a sight/ foregrip, a rig, a spare mag or two (with 120ish rounds spare to repack in my gamma) meds (also gamma) and a scav backpack.
location, location, location
Where are you going? what do you expect to encounter? Why are you going there? Your gear and location should match accordingly. If I'm going to shoreline with just a scav gun solo, sure I might get lucky if I go to resort but I'm also drastically increasing my odds of running into geared enemy PMCs. I'd probably be better served looting pier, weather station, village, cottages, etc. I'll find enough loot to make 200k+ profit after a scav kill or two and I don't drastically increase my odds of dying and losing everything.
Consistent medium cash is the path to riches much more readily than rolling the dice hoping for that red key card.
These are a few tips to get you started on the path to profitability. I can do follow-ups or edits with suggested loadouts, weapons, links to barter item prices as necessary if there is interest.

My(40M) wife (38F) wants to know all I do and has an opinion on everything. It's stopped me from trying out new things and new hobbies

So my wife doesn't have much of hobbies or interests other than watching tv or chit chatting with friends. We are married 10 years and have a baby (2Y) who takes up a lot of free time currently. Both of us work in the same University. There is another story here but will keep that for later. She gets bored super easily and doesn't read anything, doesn't write nor watch sensible tv. Shes says things like 'I only like to watch feel good romcom movies' or ' the hero and heroin should look good' No classic cinema, foreign movies, action, horror, scifi,western..nothing. This limits what she can watch.
I, on the other hand like to try my hand at stuff like jewellery making, macro photography, painting, digital drawing, DIY home repair , writing , circuit designing, stamp collecting, reading non fiction books, watching documentaries etc. just to name a few. I did try my hand at making video games and starting to make a rig to mine bitcoin etc. but had zero success there.
I believe that learning is a lifelong process and try to learn as much as I can just for the sake of it.
The problem is that my wife doesn't look at all this with interest. Whenever I am doing any activity not related to my field of work she will ask if I am making money with this? I say, this is for learning and she gets all upset and angry saying I am wasting my time. I do not spend much on my hobbies too, maybe a 100$ in six months or so, maybe buy a new fountain pen or a new developer board etc.
Whenever I am doing anything hands on, she will say the output is bad, I see much better in shops. I say I am learning that's why it looks like this and she sneers and says I am wasting my time, there is no money in this. If I am writing something, she will try to read over my shoulders and say that looks like bad writing. When I do some home repair or gardening, she says her friends can do this much better and I am not concentrating and am making it look bad. I recently made some new pendants by a technique I saw on youtube, and she said it looks like a child made it and she would never wear it. When I cook some new recipe, she always complains that salt is less/more, or this spice is too much too less. When the food is well made, never an ounce of appreciation that its good. She just eats and cleans the dining table. If I ask her hows the food, she replies, 'its food, anything that fills a belly is fine, I can eat anything and am not picky.'
She never appreciates all I try to learn and do always criticizing and saying negative to me and my activities. It has come to a point now that I don't do anything, my creative juice has stopped and I cannot think beyond laundry, dishes, cooking and groceries. Even if I have free time I sit like a zombie in front of the computer mindlessly browsing. My confidence is almost broken, self esteem gone and feel sad all the time.
But during times when my wife goes for a conference for 3-4 days at a stretch, all my energy comes back and I can do my stuff peacefully and my creativity returns. As soon as my wife comes home and asks a question like why is the dishwasher not empty, or why is the towel not in the laundry etc. I suddenly become depressed and lose any motivation to do my thing.
It's come to the point where I try to hide what I am doing just so that my wife will not jinx it but giving a negative comment on it. All my calligraphy stuff, coin collection, my development boards, printout of interetinng stuff I want to read, and more ,in my office. It's like I shifted my sould to the office and at home, I'm just a punching bag for doing household work.
I thought perhaps its the postpartum mood swings that ladies go through after delivery, but this behavior was before delivery too, say 5 years back.
Frankly, I cannot see me going down like this. I need some outlet for my creativity and learning and she is strangling this very effectively. Any comments on how to handle this?

Today's Factory Run

I was in the depths of the factory zone, bullets whizzing past me. I look to find cover within a room. The mechanic had sent me to repair control boards within the factory, due to recent events with an attempt to bring down the bitcoin market. As I had rushed into the room, I was immediately spotted, as a PMC had also taken cover within that very room. I knew that one of the control panels was in an adjacent room, the one with a forklift, but was worried that I would lose my life instead. I bolted to that room, trying to avoid being shot to my demise. I immediately begin repairing the control panel as quickly as possible, making sure to do it right. In my focus, I never bothered to look back. Nearing the completion of the repair, I hear a voice. Right behind me that very pmc who had followed me in and snuck up on me. He said "Good work." I had stupidly gone in without a weapon so in order to spare my life, I had offered him a deal. See, before I was in the predicament of being shot at and forced into this room, I had located an electric motor on the body of a dead scav. I thought that if I had offered it to this pmc, he would spare my life. Surely enough, when I asked him to follow me, he complied. I couldnt believe it. We rush over to the dead scav and I physically showed him that I was looking around corners to avoid being shot, so that he didnt suspect me leading him to a trap. We took the lower tunnels to the room where the scav was and I dropped the motor out of the scav. He took it happily. Soon after, a damn scav attacked us. I ducked and hid, but I had been shot in the torso and was bleeding bad. Luckily for me, this new friend I just made owned an M4A1 and swiftly took out the scav. He looks to me and I exclaim that I had been bleeding. He hands me an IFAK pack. I thought about how nice he was for that and bandaged my wounds. Well, apparently stupid me had an IFAK in my secure container Gamma and never needed it. I gave him my full IFAK in return. He thanked me for the full IFAK. We walk out of the room, careful of other scavs who may be watching. As he is watching, I go to loot the scav. The scav didnt have much, though the MP-133 on the body would make for some help. I pull it out and follow the pmc, who was planning to exit the facility. I then had a deep, dark thought. I have this shotgun, and if I shoot this PMC in just the right spot I may kill him and have his riches of his Attack 2 backpack. I pushed that thought aside very quickly as he takes out another scav, though this one had an AK-103 and a scav backpack, not to mentiom the MK3 armor rig as well. I step back to let him loot his kill when he stepped back and told me to loot it and that I can have it. I carefully take the riches from this scav and we head to the exit. We both stand near the door waiting for extraction, and I thank him for the help he has given me. The extraction teams come and we are both out of there. I head to the mechanic, turn in, and he pays me many roubles for my troubles.
This is based on a true story that actually happened in Factory. I love these people and hope to have more stories that are like this.
TL;DR : Pmc helped me out when I offered him somthing that I had him follow me to. Both of us had a successful run together.
P.S. If this is you, yes I would like to party.

Thoughts / Suggestions on What to Add to the Hideout?

Merry Christmas eve to all who celebrate Christmas tomorrow! While we wait for the patch installation to finish, I was thinking about some of the things that BSG can do to add to the hideout/crafting. What they have built so far is very impressive IMO, especially with the smaller team that they have. But I was interested in hearing what other member's think about what should be added. So far I have seen a few people ask for a gym to get that strength level up or an armor repair station.
My thoughts on potential adds (apologies if people have already suggested this before and I missed it).
  1. As the game progresses and more loot items are added, start to breakout the crafting stations into different tables. For example - currently there is a mix of weapons, ammo, and electronics built at the workbench. To add variety to this I think that as the game progresses we should have a purely weapons crafting station, electronics crafting station, industrial crafting workbench, and ammo reloading station. There can be an association of items needed to be grabbed to build these up to higher levels. The weapons station can have different bare minimum parts that spawn in that can be combined for base weapons to be crafted - for example a five seven barrel and weapons parts, and maybe something else can be used to make a FN Five Seven. Or a WD-40 can and some tools can be used to make a cheap crappy silencer for certain pistols. The higher the level of the weapons table the biggemore complex guns that you can be able to make. The Ammo Reload/Crafting station can be used to make bullets like the workbench does now, but by crafting bullets and adding certain additional items or gunpowder etc. etc. maybe it will give the bullets certain enhanced characteristics or slight additional penetrative power. So for example adding an additional type of gunpowder to say a 7.62 set of rounds give it additional velocity, therefore additional accuracy and penetration but will wear the gun out faster (yes I know you usually die before you ever have to repair a gun). I am not trying to turn the game into a craft all items using some rubber bands and bolts like Fallout 4 or rust, but I think it will add some variety to the hideout.
  2. If certain things are going to wear out from use eventually or currently, you should have base 1x1 or 2x1 items be useful for crafting more "expensive" or rare items. So for example lets say the bitcoin farm a few patches later makes graphics cards wear out. You can build a graphics card at the electronics crafting station I mentioned above by using 2 CPU fans, a power cord, circuit board, cpu, and ram. Or for example other items you find can be used to build a water filter at the normal workbench. I feel like these efforts will help stop some of the "meta" when it comes to hatchet runners who sprint into maps like interchange to grab high value items like graphics cards. Or instead of paracord you make a bundle of paracord, D-ring, and bolts create a 2x1 rappel rig for leaving Reserve. Paracord has a higher spawn chance in things like bags. I like the thought of barters making normal items valuable but I think this will additionally add a level of reward to those players who move slowly and loot the lesser trafficked areas. You will still have hatchet runners but at least the high value loot won't be as necessary to buy, hence lowering the price of those high value loot items.
  3. You can start to craft items that serve a purpose in a map as BSG adds more extracts and features. I already mentioned the rappelling rig above but I think all maps should have some interaction items that players bring in for extracts or better loot. For example - Interchange can get a security room added. You can bring in a USB flashdrive crafted from your hideout that allows you to hack into KIBA security and turn off the alarms so that when you open the doors they don't go off alerting everyone to your presence. You can also use the secure flash drive to open up more extracts on the map so you aren't canalized into just one. Or heck, maybe if they ever add the feature you can check all the video cameras that float in the corner of the building using the USB stick. So now you have a choice of more extracts and loot, but at the cost of using up an expensive USB stick (risk vs. reward).
That's all I can thing of for now but I would love to hear other people's thoughts and ideas!

Profitable Crypto Mining: ASIC vs GPU, Which One Is Better?

Profitable Crypto Mining: ASIC vs GPU, Which One Is Better?
If you’re new to mining you probably have multiple questions running through your head right now. Good news is that it gets easier with time, assuming that you do your homework and research, and we will try to help you out.
One of the common questions is whether one should choose GPU or ASIC mining and we definitely have some advice on that topic.
When we’re considering classic POW mining we can quickly rule out CPU hardware for not being efficient and FPGA hardware because of its high costs. This leaves you with ASIC and GPU to choose from.

Buying Mining Equipment

Let’s get things straight — you won’t be able to buy ASIC devices in any of you local electronic shops, even in the biggest ones. There are two ways you can get this hardware: buying it online which shouldn’t be a problem these days unless that’s the newest model you’re after. Second option is to find a local company that sells ASIC equipment.
Also, you can try to purchase the equipment directly from the manufacture company, however, mind the huge customs and delivery fees if the company is located abroad.
It is highly recommended to test ASICs before buying them to make sure the equipment works properly.
GPU or graphics cards and other equipment that you will need to build your very own mining farm can be easily purchased at a regular computer store. The only problem you may have is getting the right set of hardware, so make sure to come prepared.
When buying a used (second-hand) graphics card don’t forget to test it.
What’s better?
If you’re not into hardware and have no clue how to set up a farm by yourself buying ASIC equipment would be a better option as you won’t need to build anything yourself.

Warranty Policy

In general, an official warranty policy for ASIC hardware is up to 180 days since the equipment was shipped to the buyer. When the seller is confident about the quality of their equipment, they can offer their personal 1 month warranty.
When you’re buying computer hardware in most of the cases you are getting full 2 year warranty policy including exchange or repairments of the equipment.
What’s better?
Warranty policy is especially important when you have no chance to check the equipment yourself or when you’re buying large inventory of it. Also, if you plan to go with overclocking, you will probably need a decent warranty as well.
We need to add that when you’re using the equipment accordingly and conduct regular maintenance both ASIC and GPU can work past the warranty period.

Setting Up Process

With ASICs it’s simple: you plug and connect it, pick a pool to join and start mining right away.
With GPU, it’s a little complicated. First, you need to build your farm. You will need a framework, motherboard with installed CPU and cooling, storage unit, power supply, risers and video cards. If you have no experience with assembling computer hardware you’re gonna need to save some time and prepare to put extra effort. Once your rig is ready you will have to install OS and optimize it which is usually even harder than setting up a rig. But luckily we’ve got a solution for that. CoinFly can do the work for you and help you with setting up and optimizing your equipment.
What’s better?
Although ASICs are very easy, you shouldn’t quickly give up on GPU mining. If assembling computer hardware is not a big problem for you, CoinFly will help you with setting it up.

Maintenance

ASIC equipment won’t give you too much trouble: it’s safe, stable, and doesn’t require any special knowledge. Maintenance includes cleaning off dust and oiling the fans.
When dealing with rigs, you will have to work a little harder and study the basics about at least graphics cards’ temperatures and operational frequency. A stable workflow depends heavily on the software and as it has a tendency to fail, it could become a problem. Unless you’re using CoinFly — our system will notify you in case of emergency so you can tune your equipment online.
What’s better?
Once again, when it comes to maintaining ASICs are almost trouble-free. GPU rigs are a bit tricky but when using the right tools like CoinFly to monitor their work, it can serve you just fine.

The Noise

ASICs are loud: when you’re in a room with a working ASIC you’re gonna need to shout, so people can hear you.
GPU farms have no such problem. Some of them are almost silent and that doesn’t affect the cooling process at all.
What’s better?
Maybe the level of noise your equipment makes was not the first issue on your list but we recommend you to consider it. ASICs are suitable only for the commercial and industrial premises.

Mining

ASICs can work with only one algorithm and mine one or several types of cryptocurrencies and are perfect for mining Bitcoin and its forks.
GPU rigs are universal: you can mine a huge variety of coins if you set your miner right.
What’s better?
If you want to mine Bitcoin, you gotta go with ASIC. But think again if that’s what you’re really after. After all, you can choose mining any altcoin that you’d like with your GPU rig and then simply exchange it to BTC. And if you’re lucky enough to mine a coin that will do good ASICs do not give you that choice, however, their mining capability is higher.

Relevance of the Equipment

ASICs are quickly getting out of date as the new models come along. Back in the day, the new versions used to come out every half a year and they were 10 times more efficient. In general, you need to change your ASIC hardware every year.
GPU equipment can perfectly serve you for 2 to 3 years and if you wish to sell the graphics card afterwards that wouldn’t be a problem either.
What’s better?
In terms of relevance, it’s probably reasonable to go with the GPU.

Return on Investment

In the long run, the profitableness of ASICs is higher but because the new models are being released quite frequently you cannot expect huge profits. It is always important to do your research and get the most relevant equipment.
GPU hardware will take its time to pay you back but it also depends if you manage to find the right coin to mine that will eventually increase your profits.
What’s better?
ASIC mining is definitely a good option for those who don’t want to constantly monitor the crypto market.
But in the case that you’re interested in what’s happening in the crypto space and you also have time to do your own research, the GPU farm would the better choice. If you’re not willing to spend your efforts on that, CoinFly Autopilot mode will help you mine the most profitable coin on the market automatically.

Conclusion

ASICs are great for people who can provide a non-residential space for mining and not willing to spend too much time and effort for setting up the equipment and stay updated with the latest trends in the crypto industry.
GPU rigs are suitable for mining at home and won’t scare away all the crypto and computer enthusiasts. If you’re just starting your mining journey but not sure how to do it, we recommend to register on CoinFly. From setting up your hardware to tuning it online and picking the best coin to mine at the moment — we’ve got you covered!
